I am a life-long Anoka County resident who calls Ham Lake my home. My husband Rick and I have two adult daughters, a son-in-law and 2 wonderful Granddaughters. We have been attending Constance Free Church in Andover for approximately twenty four years. I am currently serving in my first term on the Anoka County Board. I am the past Sr. Vice President of the Ladies Auxiliary of the VFW Post in Ham Lake and have a passion and deep commitment to support veterans and their causes. I am a co-chair of Toys for Troops organization. I am a member of both the Ham Lake Area Chamber and the East Bethel Chamber. I am dedicated to helping Hope 4 Youth, the Lee Carlson Center and the Alexandra House as I believe they have great positive impacts on our community.
Prior to serving as a county commissioner, I served 6 years on the Ham Lake City Council, and 2 years as a Planning and Zoning Commissioner. As part of my duties as a county commissioner, I chair both the Public Safety Committee and the Inter-Governmental & Community Relations Committee. Serving at the city level prepared my well for serving on the county board.
I have worked for years in both the banking and the legal fields. When I became a county commissioner I ceased working as a paralegal so that I could be extremely responsive to the needs of my constituents. I am known for being a great listener and an advocate for the people. I assist my husband in the operations of his electrical contracting business so I know and understand the challenges of being a small business owner. I truly believe that in this race experience matters.
